Well, it's kind of a super long and complicated story about the Mello I RP at Nihil, but the point is this: Mello's going to lose his patience big time. XD
So! Since even my AU!Mello is still very much Mello, and since Mello's birthday is on the 13th and I wanted to do something to commemorate it - why not commemorate Mello's life and death and all of his manic, violent energy with something like a molotov cocktail?
The colouring on this picture was totally just me experimenting in Photoshop with channels and textures.

But anyway, I digress- this is a fanart depicting a character who [may or may not, depending on the interpretation] separates his religious beliefs from his actions. He's depicted in the source material as wearing a rosary, adorning and surrounding himself with Catholic imagery, and yet he carries a gun and associates with hardened criminals, and ultimately ends-up being directly [and apparently guiltlessly] responsible for the deaths of many people.
In the context of this image, he was trapped in an apparently inescapable situation and decided to react with violence in order to free himself. He is a man who wears religious symbols as he kills because he doesn't seem to be bothered by the ideological conflict in doing so, therefore I don't imagine that he would be troubled by the ideological conflict between religion and freedom.
