Mello - Birthday '09

In honour of Mello from Death Note, who is celebrating his very last birthday on December 13th of this year, I have submitted... this unrefined thing. OTL Still, it's done in time, and I had a lot of fun experimenting with flat texture and digitally colourized lineart. This was originally intended as something of a 'Mello if he had lived' picture, depicting him as an older man... but really, that picture will come at another time. This is Mello, post-explosion, in a unique outfit and a unique setting that's somehow decadent but at the same time subdued and mundane. Mello tends to make a throne room out of any setting.
